Opulent Techno Pte Ltd is a leading designer and manufacturer of thermal solutions. Until recently, due to globalization and the huge increased in staff strength, Opulent decided to take advantage of Exchange Enterprise’s as an integrated platform to provide improved messaging and control the use of email with policy-based rules and ensure increased security.
The Situation
Due to globalization and the rapid growth of the company’s staff strength as well as the need for clustering and high availability of messaging and collaboration. Opulent Techno wanted a more robust messaging and collaboration solution that could eliminate the memory and cache limitations on performance and the little scalability when mailboxes sizes grow to accommodate employees’ demands for more storage.
The company also required a unified communication tools for their employees in several region. Employees needed to receive their e-mail, voice mail, and faxes through a single inbox that can be accessed from anywhere.
The Solution
To address the issues, Micro 2000 Technology proposed to Opulent Techno to migrate the current Microsoft Exchange 2003 Standard to Exchange 2007 Enterprise Edition.
The implementation of the Exchange Enterprise Server will be to support 4 clustering nodes that will be split into 5 server roles. Namely an Exchange Mail Server 2007, a Hub Transport Server, a Mailbox Active Node Server, a Mailbox Passive Node Server as well as an Edge Transport Server. This cluster terminology design undermines efforts in providing high availability.
